In 2002 my son was born and I knew that traditional jobs were O-U-T!!! I decided to start my own business...web design...I had NO clue what I was doing and decided that it couldn't be hard and started creating simple little sites using either dreamweaver or front page. About four months after starting my "company" (then called smart designs and located at smart-designs.biz) I was contacted by heartland sales, dog auctions. They were my very first clients, and honestly, their site is horrible! I had no clue what I was doing or what could be done with html/css as I was still learning. A few years later, feeling HORRIBLE about the site design for this particular client, I offered to do a re-design FREE OF CHARGE! Not only did they refuse, but they said they "LOVED" their website and didn't want to change it. But I had already created the site design as well as the new logo, so I opted to keep at least the logo and showcase it as a reminder of where I started and where I am now.
